Feeding the Future – Trust, Sustainability and the New Demands on Food Production
Time: Wednesday 25 June 2025 at 11:00–11:55
Food production faces pressure from sustainability demands, rising costs, and calls for independence. How do societal expectations and corporate responsibility reshape the industry – and what drives consumer trust in a sector vital to resilience and self-sufficiency?

In today’s volatile world, Sweden and the Nordic region face unprecedented challenges to food security. Climate change, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain vulnerabilities demand a resilient response.
Consumer trust stands at the core of this transformation. As expectations for sustainability and ethical sourcing rise, trust has become the essential bridge between producers and consumers – determining both market success and regulatory support. In this seminar: Measured trust levels of the most prominent food producers in the Nordics are revealed and discussed.
The drivers of trust in the food industry are analysed through quantitative data. These findings serve as a foundation for industry leaders to chart a pathway to resilience for Nordic food systems.
