Why do some cities attract new residents and keep them there—while others don’t?
Attraction&RetentionThe study answers this question: it measures the regional vitality of cities as well as the factors that influence people’s desire to move to the area, stay there, and recommend it to others.

What Attraction&Retention ?
The city’s vitality score is based on six categories: economic vitality, community spirit, environment, location, services, and cost structure.
The model examines how different stakeholders perceive the area as a place to live—what impressions they have of its sense of community, accessibility, service offerings, and cost of living. These perceptions directly shape the city’s appeal and ability to retain residents.

Attraction must be earned.
Once the drivers of vitality, strengths, and areas for development have been identified, systematic work is required—for which Attraction&Retention and our experts provide clear guidelines.
According to our research, improved regional vitality strengthens residents’ trust and commitment, increases positive word-of-mouth, and boosts the area’s appeal in the eyes of both job seekers and companies—including those already operating in the area and those considering relocating there.
