"Morning at the Core" video: How to build effective performance metrics Reputation&Trust
We attended ProCom’s “Aamu ytimessä” event to discuss how to use the Trust & Reputation model to develop effective performance metrics. A recording of the event is now available for viewing.
Our Head of Development, Riku Ruokolahti, our Lead Researcher, Petteri Puska, and our Senior Data Analyst, Antti Pennala, explained how the results Reputation&Trust are used to derive clear, impactful performance metrics that support the organization’s goals and guide practical actions.
We also reviewed the history of KPIs, what KPIs are, and what makes a good performance metric.
Metrics can be divided into two categories: leading and lagging. Leading metrics act as a compass, and lagging metrics act as a map: without a destination (lagging), you don’t know where you’re headed, and without a compass (leading), you won’t get there.
What makes a good KPI?
• Quantitative: the goal, methods, and responsibilities are clearly defined.
• Measurable: the baseline and measurement method are known and measurable.
• Achievable: the set goal is realistic.
• Relevant: the metric is linked to the organization’s success factors.
• Time-bound: the goal is tied to a clear timeframe.
Reputation&Trust, reputation is clearly and quantitatively measurable.
Watch the video to see how performance metrics can be set based on a model and what kinds of goals are truly sensible and effective.
